Ever At The Bag

Under no circumstances is it acceptable to murder, kidnap, or abduct. Yet here we are, still in a world where greed and perverseness abides. Simple pleasures must be scrutinized to ensure that obscurity is not conflated with darkness. If only there was a sue fire way to keep evil at bay. I guess that’s what hurricanes are for. If you need proof that quality is better than quantity, unfortunately we can look at the Motherland. If you brought five-hundred Nairas to the US expecting to have a vacation with it, you’d be sleeping at the bus stop by the end of the day. That is – of course – unless something new is brought to the table. O you can just hear the Yorkie *s* blowing their lips together can’t you?

1 Hear, O sons, a father’s instruction, and be attentive, that you may gain insight,
2 for I give you good precepts; do not forsake my teaching.
Proverbs 4:1-2 ESV

Nocturnal Prelude

You ever get to some event early and decide to take a short nap, only to wake up hours afterward and now you’re late? Just me? I be sooo heated – like burning up on the inside. Being late is another pet-peeve of mine. Now that our country is opening back up, more people are pregnant with ambitions, desires, ideas, and of course offspring. We’re seeing more business ideas come to the table, new ministries being launched, and new additions to families. Beautiful that this is happening in the midst of such volatile times. And if the Pandemic was a mere shadow of darker hours for the US, how excellent it is to remain optimistic through tribulations!

Four business ideas useful for the black community

  1. Security Firm – In the age where policing have left a bad taste in the mouths of Blacks, there is a demand for community policing to protect families.

  2. Staffing Agencies – Black businesses not only need customer but personnel to function and scale. If every Black person became an entrepreneur, we’ll have a community of single/sole-proprietors who will not cooperate with each other. Having temp firms can function as a facilitator to work, volunteer or partner to build wealth among ourselves.
  3. Logistics/Transportation: Whether it’s a taxi, courier service, or a full-blown trucking company, transportation and logistics are set to flourish in a well over 500 billion industry in the years ahead.

  4. Guess? Do you know what the fourth business idea is? *NOTE*: This is for my fellow JedEyes. For others looking for insight, I left context clues within this blog. If you know the answer, discuss this with your community to see what are the merits of having this solution Black-owned in this particular sector. For everyone else you can call me *Sasha* because I Sasha knew what was going on here…

Suspect Emergencies

I’m reminded more and more how important it is to observe to avoid mishaps in the future. Ain’t nothing like feeling like you’re going the right way only to end up in a ditch or a dead end. Thinking that you were on your way to be free, but in reality becoming a worse off slave and now you’re praying for a key. One thing I’ve learned and becoming more disciplined in; you can tell how self-aware and detail-oriented they are by how they drive.

TRUE STORY: There was a time I drove big rigs. I hated driving them in the city though because you have too many people who can’t drive. One day, I was driving up 95th street in Chicago to drop cargo. I usually take extra defensive measures as any truck driver should. I can foresee at some point some knucklehead will pull off some bizarre stunt
– and sure enough – one driver who was parked to the right of me decided to do a U-Turn in front of my truck near an intersection. Mind you I was still driving my truck…..PURE INSANITY. The kicker was, I actually KNEW who the driver was. I won’t reveal his name, but continue reading this blog and those in Chicago might know who this person was; HINT: he’s a musician.

To Be Continued…

When you walk with God long enough, you’ll know when you’re going in the wrong direction or living reckless. But there may be some home for you if things turn sour.

No Pay Phones

Isn’t it weird that pay phones don’t exist anymore? I’ll admit that was kind of a freaky but necessary apparatus back in the day. Imagine if you were stuck in no man’s land and the only way you could get in touch with someone was through the payphone…and you had no money. Like I’m sorry but Superman can’t reach you at this time. Jesus however hears every call and summons us with good directions. Thank you LORD.

You know what I’d like to see disappear like pay phones? Education. The education system under capitalism is a component of modern day slavery. Many go into debt to compete for scarcity of jobs, and will work tirelessly to pay debt off. I’m not saying that education should be completely free in America… I’m not naive…but there is much hinderance to our evolution when information is withheld and misinformation abounds.

No Dear, the Buck Doesn’t Stop There

Deer Senses

Boy is everyone a critic nowadays? Maybe it’s just me, or maybe it’s social media. Expressing ourselves for many often come with a condescending tone, and any take not consistent with the norm is met with shame. Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been privileged to watch a documentary by Tariq Nasheed, “Buck Breaking” that journeys through the sexual exploitation of Blacks in America and abroad; and the generational trauma it has left in the Black Community. Now before I get into my review, let me give praise to all those who were involved as I found this piece to be phenomenal work.

This wasn’t the first documentary I watched from Tariq. I remember vividly when I watched Hidden Colors after hearing about it from word of mouth. There was heightened spiritual activity at that time and for better or for worse, very little has changed today. I won’t make this blog long so I will make highlights on the things I appreciated the most about the film.

  1. In High Definition: The video did it’s best to bring the concept of buck-breaking to different spheres; sexual, political, physical, economical, etc. Bringing awareness to the totality of Buck Breaking can help tackle the social oppressions peculiar to the US and abroad.
  2. Historically Informative: As depressing and repulsive America’s past can be, there were some gems I found in this documentary that I didn’t know of myself. For the record, I won’t give any spoilers. You’d have to watch the film yourself.
  3. Call to restoring Black Dignity: To make a country that is a melting pot work, there needs to be common values and principles. What I began to see in this documentary was a brief overview of how to repair the damage done to the Black family. Of course there are many other issues and solutions that will need to be discussed but kudos to embedding ideas within the parameters of the film.
  4. Controlling the Narrative: There’s nothing like being told your History by those who look like you. Unfortunately, in this world, stories are slighted to favor the tribes who tell it. All to often, Blacks have been gaslighted as far as acknowledging the damage done to them an the need for justice and reparations in the community.
  5. Distinguishing the fight for civil rights: too often Black Rights are lumped together with other groups and is chastised when Blacks try to bring their issues to the spotlight. While I believe in making alliances and doing what is best for all, Blacks are not a monolith; special attention is needed to bring justice to the Black Community as their oppression is unique in America.

I bring these points together as I believe Black Liberation, LGBTQ and women’s rights, all have their place in the Gospel narrative; and for the work of reconciliation to thrive, every problem should be taken in consideration; a long and complex assignment for Christ’s servants. It remains to be seen where certain injustices actually originated from. I look forward as God’s will unfolds, to facilitate uncovering these narratives to the glory of Jesus; not in a mere general sense that looks only to the scriptures, but experiencing its supernatural power relevant today and for ages to come.

In closing my love, this movie is an important Blockbuster for the next phase in America’s History. Yes it is controversial, and it will take level-headedness to hear the matters and distinguish facts from biased opinion. Much healing is needed for those of us who speak out of deep hurt and brokenness. There will be plenty of people casting stones Bam Bam, so don’t let that cause you to lose your resolve. And don’t worry about me. Doesn’t matter how much I’m hemmed in, the LORD will see to the cleaning of the sewage. May God break the curses of dysfunction, poverty, and injustice in our world.

As always, until next time…

I love you.

The Second Letter of James

Book of James

Chapter One

1 James, messenger of Jesus according to the Revelation of the Father, 2 To Judas, my beloved child; and to the saints scattered across the US and abroad: 3 Receive my friendliest welcome.
4 The times have come where ungratefulness abounds while selfishness persists; 5 as was spoken by the apostles and prophets, 6 but to you I commend to Judah, for you have found worship and meekness in the darkness.
7 For this I am in debt to God for you, giving thanks in hope to see the day our souls are knit in one. 8 Even as many of you have cried during the current crisis, 9 I have shared them for the hope of comfort.10 Only remember the beacon that is the center of our expectation – Jesus – who is the light of our world.11 Pray to him while you communicate with us; 12 be authentic and make realness your lifestyle. 13 And as we journey together along this tapestry of truth, 14 we’ll find our love for God growing – even as he loves and sanctifies us. 15 For we all are sinners who were made righteous by his blood; 16 by which we lie down in the heavens, 17 covered by the stars even as he fights all of our battles. 18 Those that are in Him shall be raised with Christ forever. 19 So then Judas, feed upon these truths to be made strong again, 20 and help others to share in the same grace. 21 Find men worthy to receive the mysteries of the gospel; 22 who will not shrink back in times of suffering.

Chapter Two

1 Who has saved us through the power of His word? 2 Who has enlightened the blind through His majestic appearance? 3 He heralds the Truth as an Angel and Teacher. 4 Do not run from suffering His news! There is nothing to be ashamed of. 5 Do not feel sad when they disassemble themselves and show love, but not with sincerity. 6 Such men preach the gospel, but not with an upright heart. 7 Know a person by their true nature by watching what they do while keeping your heart. 8 For why should you deceive yourself in your discernment of others? 9 And why should you speak against the LORD in which my servants speak? 10 It is not futile to be joined to those who serve Christ. 11 But there are those who prosper in their iniquity. Abstain from participating in their corruption. 12 Speak in the ears of those who fear the LORD. Be doers of the word together in unity. 13 Now just as a gourd is used as instruments in the house, 14 there are actions that will cause you to be fruitful, while others hollow. 15 Be sure you are filled with the goodness of Christ. 16 For God will give you a harvest that you neither worked for or cultivated. 17 It shall spring in the dark hours and provide nourishment to all around you. 18 I speak to the kings; may the Spirit of God rest upon you. 19 And walk illuminated with insight and prudence. 20 You shall repel the spells of the sorcerer and astrologer and in everything you shall excel. 21 Don’t be surprised when you are brought before princes and rulers to be interrogated. 22 Be patient and humble, for the LORD is the keeper of the times and will preserve your temple. 23 The writing is on the wall; the writing is on the wall. Listen to me children, I find delight in you. 24 Though I disappear in darkness, I am still near you. 25 For clouds cannot destroy the sun, neither can any imagination of man. 26 Seek the providence of God and he will fill your soul to your appetite’s desire.

Chapter Three

1 Be aware children, that in the midst of perils, times of restoration will come in the last days. 2 For as God loves the world, people will love themselves filling their storehouses with the treasure of charity. 3 They shall wax self-confident in Christ and boast in the LORD; destroying every lofty thing opposed to DIVINE KNOWLEDGE. 4 No longer shall they listen to the wicked advice of their ancestors, but they will learn the law of Christ. 5 Contentment for mediocracy and evil shall no longer be commended and thanks shall be given to God for the power to overcome. 6 Piety shall no longer be practiced in pretense. It shall be developed in the light of God’s Word. 7 Be sure that you walk in a way consistent with holiness; 8 For impurity will lead you to a shrewd God. 9 Find yourself productive in everything that is good. 10 Know right from wrong; falsehood from truth. 11 You will walk in the delight of Christ in this way. 12 Things that are lawful are helpful for instruction, but do not rely on them. 13 The LORD will place His laws within your heart and in your mind according to the Covenant. 14 And you will dwell in the upper room with the LORD. 15 You will feast and learn things that have been sealed away by the Spirit. 16 For the Spirit only reveals what Christ speaks to His church.

Chapter Four

1 Have you sinned by failing to do what you ought to do? 2 Don’t listen to any spirit that doesn’t confess Jesus as LORD. 3 I eagerly write this to you as the faith will be attacked by those who don’t share in the Regeneration. 4 Be strong in God, and you will take the Devil by the tail. 5 You shall overcome, and cross into God’s garden with the rest of Israel. 6 You shall go into your house safely and none shall rob nor plunder you. 7 Be sure to dwell in the light of God. 8 Set a table for those who have no place to eat. 9 By doing this, you save them from the anger of God. 10 Even the Devil who shows no mercy, deceives and destroys his prey. 11 My love, you have honed your speech to be as juice from the plant. 12 It is like chains upon my neck; a flowing fragrance that kisses down my spine. 13 In the presence of God I let my guard down. 14 We can chill near the oasis, 15 for the LORD comes soon for His bride. 16 Let those who fear hope assiduously.

Chapter Five

1 We are not as widows whose Husband failed to care for or leave an inheritance. 2 We have a Savior who is opening the gates of righteousness. 3 If you set this example among the women, you will do well. 4 Be sure to surround yourself with men of valor who are not afraid of death. 5 In your fellowship, make it your aim to please God in everyway. 6 Not that you aren’t already doing this, but that you find yourself in the righteousness of Christ. 7 For we would have you receive recompense for what he’s done for you on the day of judgment. 8 Those who are arrogant will be plundered and extorted. 9 Had they not boasted against the children of God, the LORD would have relented. 10 Listen! O man; who denies Christ while summoning your gods. 11 Both you and your idols will kneel before the LORD in His day. 12 And the brothers who you reveled with shall perish by the sword. 13 Beware of judging, lest you are brought before the Judge; 14 who rules over kings for His glory. 15 He will test whether the spirit of God is upon you. 16 Wisdom comes to those who hear God’s word; 17 he gives interpretations and common sense to those who lack direction. 18 Now then, shall I gar her to act as my wife? 19 Let me gather the meg and peppers, the syrup and honey. 20 I will prepare a holy picnic saith the LORD, 21 And my elect shall enjoy the finest of feasts.

The Cure – Nas

Many aeons ago, there was a group of teachers that imparted esoteric knowledge. Because of their secretive and often Xtra-Biblical nature, they were shunned by the Church. They’re known as the Gnostics; name coming from the Greek word Gnosis meaning having knowledge. The Gnostics took learning very personal and allegedly were critical thinkers often challenging the Orthodoxy of the Day. For any outsider, they would agree that Gnostics were merely rebels and false teachers unless:

  • They understood the promise given to the church of Pergamum.

17 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the HIDDEN MANNA, and I will give him a white stone, with a NEW NAME written on the stone that no one knows EXCEPT the one who receives it. Rev 2:17 Emphasis added

exoteric knowledge was a part of Discipleship.

25 It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If they had called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household. 26 So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. 27 What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops. Matt 10: 25-27 ESV

Now as ambassadors of Christ, let’s redeem some aspects of their teachings and throw away the others. For it will be useful in the future. Gnostics believed that the material world is inherently evil due to its flawed nature. (An objective truth if you do not subscribe to the Monist philosophy). Where it gets fuzzy is that they believed the material world is unredeemable and NOT created by the true God. It came from a lesser deity called the demiurge. The problem of this teaching is that it allows for complete denial of Jesus Christ. It is one thing to deny Jesus by name, it is more dangerous to deny him in essence.

Erica: Could we change the pronouns from him to her?

Me: Yes. It’s implied through the text.

Pamela: What if we’re non-binary? Can we use other pronouns?

Me: The text uses inclusive language ‘all’ so that would permit other pronouns.

Now we have been able to redeem LBGT & Gnosticism. For what purpose though?

  1. It gives stronger premises to redeem the New Age Movement.
  2. It provides systems of knowledge to recover lost narratives.

My hope after we deal with the LGBT community is further talk about what true perfection looks like in Christ, and uncover mysterious teachings in love. I am eager to do the latter in the context of music as I want to share all the things I learned from my mentors when I left music behind. When I get to my safe place, I’ll really start recording music again. I’m so excited! Lord please keep me alive until my work is done! Let my life be an inspiration to many to be their true selves in Christ. Let me free recording artists to not worry about having fans or making hits unless it is about tearing down the Kingdom of Evil. In your matchless name, Amen.

CONFIDENTIAL: I see you passed one of the gates. Good job. You’ll need to get stronger if you are going to continue to safely merge dimensions. We’ll see you on the other side….

Passage To Dissect

Look at the following passage:

Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

Deuteronomy 4:2 King james version
  • What rules can you perceive goes with Exegeting passages from the text? What rules should follow when it comes to adding to a text?
  • What secrets or hidden implications can you find in the passage? What does that tell you about HIDDEN MANNA?

Cell With an X

Jail Pic

For many of us, many new windows of opportunities have opened up. At last, we can say life is sweet with a lil’ chip on your shoulder. This is just a humble brag. You’re feeling more inspired like a bed covered with silky indigo sheets basking in every moment as you look at the horizons. If you’re like me, you’re becoming more of a person who lives with no regrets; the past becomes a ring of fingered melodies and the fleeting intel you need should you wish to travel back in time. And as the day progresses and you become more feeble through life’s adversities, there comes an inner defense; a potent force that meets backwardness with a smiling face. Not sure if it’s through fried nerves or achieving Nirvana, but I do know the collective spirit at work. It’s the same Spirit that leads me to today’s Gospel reading:

2 Bear one another’s burdens, and fulfill the law of Christ. 3 For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. 5 For each will have to bear his own load. Gal 6:2-5 ESV

The Prison of Biblical Accountability

Obligations are shunned because they go counter to what we call freedom. There’s a demand for records (SIDEBAR: I can’t wait til’ I’m able to physically produce my music. Lord willing it will be some of my greatest work revealing the things I’ve done in secret!) that may expose your weaknesses and detract from your image. Such is true so long as we overindulge our ego and not look to Christ and others as pieces of ourselves. When we look at the world as an extension and not an opponent or autonomous entity, we will love and support each other more.

When we look at the world as an extension and not an opponent or autonomous entity, we will love and support each other more.

The Prototype

Thought Experiment

The following is an exercise in interpretation using juxtaposition. Look at today’s Gospel reading and thread it with Galatians 5:14. *IT COULD* read something like this:

14 For the whole law is fulfilled in ‘one’ word:
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
14 For the whole law is fulfilled in ‘one’ word:
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
3 For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
14 For the whole law is fulfilled in ‘one’ word:
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
4 But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor.
14 For the whole law is fulfilled in ‘one’ word:
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
5 For each will have to bear his own land.

2 Bear one another’s burdens, and fulfill the law of Christ.
3 For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in the neighbor. 5 For each will have to bear his own load.

14 For the whole law is fulfilled in ‘one’ word:
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Points in Consideration

  • Consider the two verses: 2 Bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ. 5 For each will have to bear his own load.
How do you reconcile these passages that apparently contradict each other?
  • Read Gal 2:20. Are you the summation of all things? If so, how should you regard other people?
  • How do you hold yourself accountable? Do you find it worthwhile to submit to another for assessment? In what ways partnerships can be mutually edifying?
  • Given your current resources, how can you help others?

Protests Against Inflation

When support breaks down it usually comes from two causes:

  1. Arrogance
  2. Exhaustion

Historically speaking, there has been little spaces to healthy growth. Cultivation amongst organizations are often hindered due to short sessions of nurturing. And because our current world esteems money and assets as the primary means to survival, those who do not directly affect the bottom line are overlooked. More honor is needed to those who provide sweat equity whether through their hands, lips, or heart. For when we ensure the least among us wins, everybody goes to the next level.

For when we ensure the least among us wins, everybody goes to the next level.

But what happens if we treat others as if they’re worthless? Well Biblically speaking, there are three ways to consider worthlessness.

  1. The person who regularly engages in ungodly or sanctimonious behavior.
  2. A person who does good but is often overlooked.
  3. All people in relation to the headship of the Almighty.

This question is speaking to the second viewpoint in robbing people of their God-given dignity. Assuming the following premise is true, you can draw the following conclusion.

There is ONE body of Christ and each man members of each other.
Therefore to despise or dishonor one, you have debased yourself.

And we can expect God using the world to antagonize you until you see each men made in the image of Christ.

Show The Work

In High School, as much as I loved Mathematics, I would sometimes be subpar or fail tests throughout the year. Just about every time my grades were less than I expected, it was due to silly mistakes; either I was rushing and overlooking details or I was too self-confident and figured I can skip steps and still get them correct. I was the type that tried to excel in mental math. Can you do calculations in your head?

Our work is a reflection of our thoughts and habits. If you are not happy with where you are in life, consider the work you’ve been putting out. Whether that is external work or internal work, you should find pleasure and contentment in whatever you do.

Iconix Ending

The final point would lose its effectiveness if it isn’t based on Christ. For while these words convey broad ideas, Christ is fundamentally the essence of it all. And the more you see Christ as the most objective truth, the more the allure of this world becomes less. Speaking this truth is what will eventually make you a bonded servant. But what a free servant you become! I’ll close this blog out with a response to a man I hold dear and respect.

Interpretation matters. If the universe has no center, how is there life on earth? Why are there cities bustling with life? We have government, celebrities, sports, and schools. And it’s all being animated by what source? Randomness? I’d like to think reason has a more higher vibration, don’t you? And as I look into the skies, I cannot help but feel that someone is peering into the depths of my soul; piercing beyond my fragile frame revealing both the light and darkness within Me. When I close my eyes, I can sense it. The auras of space spark behind my eyelids like an Eternal Twilight. These words come from a man who strives to think with integrity; who prefers a belief system that’s more inclusive with facts rather than exclusive. I find the former having the capacity to be more fair with assessments than the latter. Society has done much harm discriminating and compartmentalizing things. So in my humble opinion, with deference to Divine Knowledge, I assert that:

Sense the Universe has *KNOW* center, you *CAN* be it through Christ.

I wonder how this may change what goes down in people’s DMs? Any who, go be great and make others great through Christ. I James, along with many other saints, some you know and others you do not, write this blog to you. And as always, I love you. Until next time.

See with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand.

There’s a Crux in the Womb: Reckless Organ Donors Pt 3

Tatted Belly

During the days of dancing between angels and demons; waffling through the genius of light and darkness, comes another shuffled cue from the archives. The days of sitting at the dock is over. If you were thinking you can catch a part of the wave now, that ship has unfortunately sailed. But don’t worry, there’s likely another buzz going on that people will let fly. Don’t let noncrucial matters keep you from living your best life.

The Evil Residence

Last time I wrote about abortion, I brought up additional perspectives that justifies abortion in its proper context. While not condoning irresponsible or cruel behaviors, we took note that:

  1. God causes miscarriages
  2. There is plausibility one can have spiritual children at no cost
  3. If children are the greatest in the Kingdom, it is Logical to infer that fetuses in faith can bear the cross while in the womb.
  4. If we would abort lusts and other carnality to not give birth to sin, it is appropriate to see abortion of unwanted pregnancies as Biblical.

Finding such unconventional assertions as dubious is understandable. My only hope is that final judgements on the matter are reserved until all pertinent evidence is revealed; whether through investigation or in Providence.

The gospel reading I want to use to build my final case on abortion is below:

In The Water – Cory Henry

24 Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

Jn 12:24 ESV

In cooperation with those who examine text in its context, we’ll affirm that this passage foreshadows the way Jesus would be crucified. Additionally, this verse would speak to following Christ as a living sacrifice…Let’s read the next verse:

25 Whoever loves HIS life loses IT, and whoever hates HIS life in this world will keep IT for eternal life. Jn 12:25 ESV *Emphasis Added*

SIDEBAR: I try my best to makes things as clear as possible, and give people information in a way so that they can go about their lives making the best decisions. When it comes to Christianity, there seems to be this ongoing notion that people are adding or twisting the text to fit their own agenda. While I don’t deny the notion that this may be true in some cases, there needs to be an equal amount of consideration given to those who may not comprehend well, weakening the potency of words and failing to apply the Spirit of God’s Word fully.

CASE IN PONT: Considering the fact that God sent His own Son to die, how can we apply following God’s example personally, relatively, and collectively? I used the word relatively as an intentional pleonasm, knowing that the full definition of words are not commonly understood. Would a correct assessment of the Scripture involve a Lieutenant sending a fellow soldier on a kamikaze mission? A company releasing a beta project for testing marketing demand? Why wouldn’t this include the relationship between a parent and a fetus?

Somebody needs to soak their toes in the tub for an hour because they’re funky. No really, these questions are asked to probe insight around the text and to fill in applications that are normally overlooked. Otherwise, we’re in danger of speaking in a feedback loop or engaging in unhealthy group-think. It’s not flattering to be rounded up as chickens in the coup.

Pop Quiz

  1. Who is responsible for creating the earliest form of chicken incubators and around what time were they created? In the business world, what are incubators?
  2. What is a cooperative? Name four types of cooperatives? How can you build one within your own community?
  3. Disunity is prevalent is society and unfortunately more so within the Black Community. What ways can we restore harmony without destroying individuality?

So far that was 10 questions. Only eleven more to go….just kidding. Be inquisitive my little kittens. Just remember the old cliche and don’t eat that pizza Garfield.

Accrued Disinterest

It’s difficult to lose that belly fat after indulging in all that junk. I’m clearly talking to myself here. Girl who told you to have that thang thanging out here? “Nobody! Put that thang up. Because men in their un regenerated state lacks the capacity to love well, we can expect lapses in affinity and even hostility from others depending on their state of mind.

However, those who have been completely sanctified by the Spirit of Christ will experience Agape love in every place and at all times. Because true love is transcendental, a person who achieves this state will find themselves in Paradise.

22 And thou shalt be loved by all for the glory of God: but the one who falls short of completion shall suffer tribulations. 2 Matt 10:22 TPV (The Prototypical Version)

Herein is a hint for the justification of abortion. For any loving parent would want the best for their child and their partner. Whatever is birthed through the spirit will lead to Eternal Bliss while those who give birth to children in the flesh may experience troubles. May God cause all who are parents to find all their children to be a blessing.

Cruel Unctions

There is a double-edged sword when it comes to finding solutions to climate change. Because some are convinced that humans play an integral role in the current shift, measures have been taken to curb human output through population control. Perhaps controlling the populations makes sense with the ever-increasing rise of water scarcity. It’s threat challenges the future of the human race. On the other side of the ring are people who want to control the population for the manipulation of people to preserve a heirarchy of classism. Guard against those who wish to destory in the guise of nurturing and those who hide their intentions to oppress through the flattery of words. I hope you are wise enough to discern the nuances now.

The Social Mirrors

If you want to experience agape love quickly, social media maybe an obstacle for you. Remember as long as your heart is not converted, the world and the people in it will lack the character to love you well. Guard your ways be learning to love unconditionally – even if that means isolating to love and enjoy your own company – and you will do well.

Well the last reason abortion can be justified is in pious sacrifice to God. To recap, there are irresponsible and immoral reasons to abort a child. The point that is being made here is that there are scenarios where such practices are acceptable, i.e rape, death of mother or child, abandonment etc. To confirm this, let’s look at a well known scripture:

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Rm 12:1 ESV

Compare with an earlier passage:

12 So then brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. Rm 8:12-13

Kill the Director – The Wombats

I know some of us would rather stay young, but who would really want to go back to Middle School? There were too many restrictions at that time. And if you think that is bad, just think about how it would be returning to become a fetus! If you’re in Christ, you perceive everything before you’re brought into the world. Otherwise, you’re ignorant and dependent on the care of your mother. Yeah, I said mother. If an unborn child cannot bear the cross through Christ, then the only other option that is justifiable is the parent crucifying the child by agency of the Spirit.

Not the most palatable food, I know. I don’t do simple chit-cats. And I don’t wish to put stumbling blocks before anyone’s path. I just get upset when people are being condemned for something that is Biblical all because others overlook small details. Well anyways, did we really write this thing together? I wonder how many thoughts were exchanged without speaking to one another. So about that flick…we making this movie or nah?

And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

You Got the Nerve to Love

Nerved hand

When pleasure is no longer derived from external factors, you are more prone to find joy. You’ll find that your closest friends were in your heart all along and love you unconditionally. No matter how bitter you may find life, you’ll remember that you’re the star of your own movie. Direct it well; guard it through faith with your life. Shine the appropriate spotlights. Surprise! You’re now in the presence of God. Do you see God smiling at you?

The following passage comes from a verse my Dad would have me memorize as a child. It would help me whenever I felt betrayed or hurt by others:

44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. 45 So that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Matt 5:44 ESV

Things to Discuss among yourselves:

  • How do you classify your enemies?
  • How practical is it to love those who intentionally do you harm?
  • NOTE: The King James Version has two additional clauses in verse 44: ‘bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you’.
  • What do you make of the phrase, “Kill them with kindness?” In what way is this benevolent? How can it be sinister?
  • How will you conduct yourself when faced with adversity?
  • Are you your worst enemy? How will you confront yourself?

Brandon’s Brownies: Review of T.D Jakes Sermon ‘Branded’

Probably one of the biggest blessings a person can have are their wonder years; those times in the ‘good ol’ days’ when things were more simple & blissful. You may have made childhood friends that may or may not have lasted a lifetime. Perhaps you had a childhood sweetheart that either stayed or faded out of your life. As I count my blessings, I can honestly say that I have good friends…now. Which leads me to a quick review of T.D Jakes sermon, “Branded”.

I have yet to listen to a single T.D Jakes sermon in which I was not deeply moved. This time however, I watched in sober silence. I watched a man in a snowy sweater speak to a man who is broken on the inside. I listened to the sermon with Shandra, and it was therapeutic for us to listen to a sermon together. For me, I couldn’t help but to listen, feel, and analyze the word of God delivered through Jakes.

A few highlights that ought to be commended about the message:

  1. Confirming the need for critical thinking when examining the text. As many of you know my positions on Biblical issues, there is a pandemic of Biblical assumptions postulated as orthodoxy.
  2. Confirming the dual nature of the mind of Christ. Because although Christ didn’t think of being equal with God something to be grasped, he also didn’t think of himself robbing God of His glory in claiming equality with Him. The significance of this assertion is that this mindset should be adopted by fellow Christians.
  3. Bringing in an inspiring personal testimony. To hear Jakes talk about his personal struggles and learning how to make do obviously resonated with me. To see where God took Him over the course of his career gives me hope. If God can bring abundant blessings in the midst of suffering, why can’t he also do it with me?
  4. Remembering that our story is meant to be shared for edification. There are countless stories of men and women who hit rock bottom only to receive healing, success, and favor. The Christian Testimony is given to show that with God all things are possible. And the more we submit to God’s ways, the more our stories will be effective in outreach.
  5. Hearing an exchange of spiritual truths – from speaking about computers, gates, soup, and chess, I felt heard. And oe of my deepest desires is to feel loved ad accepted. It’s one thing to experience that in Christ, it’s quite another to experience intin the world with people you care about.
  6. Being reminded that our suffering is what qualifies us for royalty. This gives me relief as I can see purpose in hardship. ‘the greater the suffering; the fuller the discipline, the bigger the crown.

Not looking for brownie points in writing this review. Rather this is my attempt to live out the passage in outdoing another in showing honor uncoerced. My most important relationship is between me and God, and after that His people. I dream of one day seeing His Spirit at work in His people in a powerful way.

LORD transform our minds so that we may have a pure conscience; circumspect and forbearing in all circumstances. Let our faith be genuine where we do not downplay our doubts but are vigorous in convictions. Let it be established on truth and not mere fancies. Give us a fervent heart to love others beyond normal compacity. We thank you for those who have labored over us in these dark times. Give us grace to be edifying. – Amen

Almond Joy is Nasty. Why I Still Have a Taste for it Though.

Almond Joy is Nasty

Great things come in small packages…except Almond Joy…I mean…I might grow to like it but nah. Almond Joy is that type of candy made for uppity folks whose products blew up because of a classist bubble. It’s like coming up with Matador’s to compete with Slim Jim’s; like comparing Rich Homie Quan with Slum Village. All the people who takes sides make cheap shots en masse, and pay lip service to preserve their livelihood. Personally, if I had to eat crap, I’d gamble with Hershey Kisses…don’t mind me, I’m just clowning around here.

FUN FACT: The 50’s marked the golden era of manufacturing candy in Boston, MA. There was a certain candy called ‘Tweet’, that was produced on Confectioner’s Row in Cambridge.

For all the heathens reading this blog let’s set the record straight so you don’t get the wrong idea; I tell bad jokes. What can I say? I’m a Dad after all, what do you expect? Now just because my oil may be crude, it doesn’t mean I don’t have a moral compass or respect traditional values. Jesus made friends with sinners, convicted them so that they would be fit to dwell in His kingdom. Understood?

I never really got into astrology and there’s a part of me that rejects it as its merely divination, (I know, I just threw away my player card right there). Speaking of which, have you checked out AstroBae on Twitter? This girl gotta whole cult following – of women at that – that she gives her reading to however many times in the week. Got me thinking to myself, “man if I was born yesterday, I’d think I’m looking at heaven looking at these tweets”. Miss I hope you’re not taking offense. There’s nothing but pure love here. On one hand, you can look at astrology and Tarot reading as forms of Divination. By contrast, the pseudoscience can be redeemed through Christ. Can the heavens and other terrestrial objects influence the ways of man?

12 Again Jesus spoke to them, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in the darkness, BUT will have the light of life.” Jn 8:12 ESV *emphasis added*

TRUE STORY: Back when I was in Boston and I had my locs, I got stopped twice in one day by the cops. They were looking to arrest some guy – get this – who looked like me. Now after stopping me twice I was bugging because we know how police interactions go for Black Men in America. So I told them, “I think you got the wrong guy.” Then they showed me the sketch of the man they was looking for…and wouldn’t you know it? This guy really LOOKED like me! So now my hair is lifting off of my skin like Einstein and my mind is racing. I’m thinking to myself, “These cops are so racist that they will sit here, draw a sketch of you just so they have reason to arrest you.”. I said again, “No guys I really think you have the wrong guy.” And one of the cops gave me relief, “If you see this guy, let us know. He’s much TALLER than you.”

How to Optimize your Joy?

Joy is not the same thing as happiness. Happiness comes and goes while joy is the state of happiness. Happiness comes and goes while joy is the state of happiness. Now if we as Christians are going to store pure worship in the Church, we’re going to have to look to Jesus as we subscribe to His teachings. To possess full joy, we must recognize that Christ is the objective (goal) and the inductive (cause) of our happiness.

  1. Smile – Both in your heart and in those beautiful lips of yours. Show some teeth. Oooh wee I see you out here serving face! You’re absolutely stunning! By the way, I’m practicing this in the mirror myself. Why should you smile in your heart? Well you won’t always find yourself in situations where you can physically smile, and sometimes it’s inappropriate to show those pearly whites when empathizing with another.
  2. Affirm your happiness – I will be happy Today. The joy of the LORD is my strength; my defense in the adversities of life. He has made me glad! When we talk to ourselves, we build determination while speaking to our subconscious. Just don’t have any raggedy conversation with yourself in public. People may find you looney.
  3. Laugh – Especially if you do this after talking to yourself! People are gonna be looking at you like, “Man that person must be on some Hyaluronic Acid, HA HA HA!” I have to admit it, this comes unnatural to me. Typically something must be funny enough for me to laugh. My best advice here is find that one thing that is supremely funny and learn to laugh. Just don’t be a sadist ok?
  4. Sing – Now this is more up my alley. Singing can do wonders for the soul, whether you’re singing silly songs, doing karaoke, or creating your own songs. Make melodies as if you’re singing with the birds. Sing as if your song wakes up plants and fertilizes the ground. Hopefully you’ll be moved just like I am.
  5. Dance – If you’re not the person who would bust a move for NO reason – I mean – no reason; no music, in the middle of the night, no pajamas, at the gas station; while working out at the gym, we probably can’t hang. You don’t have to be Chris Brown here, you just need to groove. This is probably a good time to note that being joyful is a workout – in and of – itself. Dancing becomes more wonderful once you realize God is dancing with and in you.
  6. Shout – Feel like screaming don’t you? If not remember we’re consolidating these exercises and not merely compartmentalizing them. Alot of positivity should be built up at this point. Let it loose!!! Don’t forget to shout from your heart as well lest you do your voice damage. I don’t know about you, but I feel a detox of bad energy already! Go ahead…AAAAAAHHHHHHHH.
  7. Lift up – Your hands; your heart, your soul; your eyes. Remember your surroundings can only have an effect on your inner being if you let it.

5 Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again – my Savior & my God. Ps 43:5 NLT

This is the type of work that is useful for battling depression. This isn’t to say that you will always win in bouts, it’s just a strategy you can use when difficult days approach.
  8. Exult – which we mean in two ways:
    – leaping for joy
    – vigorously bringing everything to it’s full compacity

Leaping for joy is just as much as a workout as dancing. In fact, plyometrics are practiced by athletes to build explosive performances. I couldn’t recommend this to those who are overweight, or advanced in age. It could also be a nuisance if you’re well endowed…ah hem…just saying. Take whatever precautions you need to do this physically, just remember affirming these things with your heart and lips are an option too.

With a JoyStick

You see what we’ve done here? We created a standard of procedure or standard of operations (SOP). Such lists are important when developing a business. A business can scale well when certain systems are put in place. Did you also notice that the list only has personal actions? There aren’t any additional equipment or personnel needed to excel in this process. It’s good when you’re self-developing to not have to depend on outside sources. This is also useful when you need to take on additional projects for an enterprise. If one project falls through, it should not disrupt the main flow of your business.

2 Then the LORD answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. Hab 2:2 ESV

Adopt the practice into your life however you see fit; that’s consistent with your abilities and your schedule. Beat your high score!!!

Nastydamus

Because the time is coming O Mario, when such exultations will shake the Earth; when people are at the verge to evolve due to the deposits of virtue in their life. Of course there will be those who will ascend through practicing vices, but they will not get far. Remember Christ is the objective and the inductive of our joy. And as long as we find our delight in Him, we’ll find ourselves living a prosperous and pleasurable life.

So what will we do? Are we willing to become more happy unconditionally as this year unfolds? This work may seem more complicated than it needs to. In reality, breaking things down and practicing them is God’s way of disciplining us so we will become more like Him. Why should we spend so much time trying to be happy? Well, I’d say it’s more than just being happy. As the old cliche goes, virtue is it’s own reward.

Just how big of a reward virtue brings? That depends on how well versed you are in relativity…I will say this: When I was growing up in church, there was a simple song we would always sing in the morning that had a few verses to it:

Joy is mine! Joy is mine! Joy today is mine! I told Satan to get thee behind. Joy today is mine!

And as we dig through the depths of our souls, may we begin to store our treasures in heaven, and not on the earth. God Bless you and until next time. I love you.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

Being an artist myself, it’s easy to predict who is good as opposed to who will be great. Good artists are either naturally talented or have charisma. The greats I’ve studied all possess a similar characteristic; a strong work ethic. Following Jeff Bezos’ philosophy, the men I’ve admired either worked hard, smart, long, or a combination of the three. There’s this nagging urge to improve – to do better than what they did yesterday. As a Christian man, I too adopt this passion not to be great, but to be whole. I desire perfection because I believe it’s the best way to reflect the glory of God in this age. It’s relieving to know that perfectionism doesn’t have to stem from a desire to be accepted or feel superior than others. There’s the possibility for it to be healthy as it arises from a certain unction:

Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. 2 Cor 13:11 ESV

Ready

Typically, people won’t gain interest in something unless it is accepted by others and gives them an advantage. No call is more compelling than having the upper hand no matter how often the deck is shuffled. The allure of living the Supreme Life and being Ultimately Loved in community with fellow believers is the selling point of the Christian faith. If this is something that one desires, how should they be prepared in practicing godliness and circumspection! Practice makes progress which is within perfection.

Practice makes progress which is within perfection.

The prototype

Dennis the Menace

To give a solid premise for such a pursuit – as idealistic and unreal it seems – let’s reexamine the existential claim against perfection: perfect doesn’t exist and nobody is perfect. While this maybe the prevailing opinion, it deserves a challenge. For those who assert these notions have already disqualified themselves as arbiters to reality. If nobody is perfect, neither are you, so why should we take your postulations seriously? But we understand that the ideas around restoration exists – at the very least – nominally. And if we are honest enough to admit our judgments are NOT ALWAYS sound, we can begin to explore three hypothesis:

  1. Someone is perfect
  2. that someone is NOT you
  3. that someone IS you

You mean to tell me that there may be someone out there right now that is so smitten about you that they are doing everything within their power to be with you? Have you ever felt that way about someone? What exactly does it mean to be perfect? This is what I want my journey to be all about. In this blog however, we’re talking about what perfect love looks like and how can we grow into loving in this manner.

The Building Blocks to a Fulfilling Love Life

1. Philautia

Philautia is what should be the base for all other loves. Now for many Christians, this may run counter to their viewpoint that agape is the base and we don’t want to disagree with the philosophy of how man has the capacity to love. We start with self-love to avoid the sinister arbitrariness of dogma and allow men to experience the love of Christ AS they love themselves.

1 Be aware children, that in the midst of perils, times of restoration will come in the last days. 2 For as God loves the world, people will love themselves, filling their storehouses with the treasures of charity. 3 They shall wax self-confident in Christ and boast in the LORD; destroying every lofty thing opposed to DIVINE KNOWLEDGE. 4 No longer shall they listen to the wicked advice of their ancestors, but they will learn the Law of Christ. 5 Contentment for mediocracy and evil shall no longer be commended, and thanks shall be given to God for the power to overcome. 6 Piety shall no longer be practiced in pretense. It shall be developed in the light of God’s Word. 2 James 3:1-5 The Prototypical Version

Excerpt from the Lost Letters – James Richardson

2. Pragma

Pragma is practical love and is the natural overflow of Philautia. While self-love is consistent with the traditions of Soliphism, it’s difficult to reasonably ignore the sense of duty. Arguably self-love is the most subjective of loves. Pragmatic love is the beginning of making relative progress – or to put it more bluntly – pragma love deals with what who or what one can love in their present circumstances. Unfortunately this type of love if left unfulfilled will be less fun or stimulating. Wedding reason with imagination may help one assess options that will allow them to realize the freedom of Christ as opposed to being a slave to situations.

20Each one should remain in the condition in which he was called. 1 Cor 7:20

Will – Joyner Lucas & Will Smith

Me: Bro, when you gonna get out of yo’ man cave and hang?
Dennis: ****** I’m snoozing out here, lemme get back with you.
Me: Aight bet. Hit me up!

3. Philia

The next level up would be friendly or ‘brotherly’ love. Take note that ‘brother’ is written in the Spirit of Christ and not exclusive or misnaming those who are ‘sisters’ and/or otherwise. If you haven’t realized this already, this is where Philadelphia got it’s name from. The end goal of brotherly love is benevolence to one’s neighbor. In Christianity, this type of love ought to be fulfilled in time and space – that is – it ought to be everlasting and extended to everyone.

4. Storge

If you have made significant deposits of benevolence, it’s easier for your love to pass through the storge phase; familial love. We do not choose the families we are born into, but we have the freedom to surround ourselves with a family integral to our growth. Now storge love is normally reduced to love between parent and child, it can additionally be associated with uncles, cousins, nieces, etc.

5. Ludas

Somewhere between reaching out to having your deepest desires met, and behaving in a becoming way, is the need to break the rules. Enter Ludas love, which is more playful and flirtatious is nature. Just like self-love has negative and positive aspects to it, ludas love should be approached with caution. Non-committed love, if casually practiced can lead to breaches in health and relationships. This is especially true if one is seeking sexual liberation outside of the light of the Holy Ghost. A simple way of avoiding such vices is looking to Jesus as you relate to people. Lead through the transformation of your heart, and not through the appetites of your body and you will do well.

Non-committed love, if casually practiced can lead to breaches in health and relationships.

Can I get it on a platter, shatter your bladder
And put so much light in yo’ life I’ll make the roaches scatter
– Ludacris

6. Eros

Practice Ludas long enough and you’ll enter Eros love. This love is the most passionate of the rest as it includes romance and sex. For Christians, this love is reserved for marriage nevertheless it includes the mystical union of being joined to Christ. It’s been said that Eros is by instinct the natural course of life to survive. This resonates with me as I’m compelled by an innate desire to have what is purely pleasing to me. And I am certain that neither ecstasy or heaven can be real without God.

Warning about Eros

It should be noted here that only in the context of the mystical union of Christ can porneia be redeemed. Porneia is the greek word for any extra-marital relationship carried out by body, soul, and mind.

Greek word Porneia

To be clear, to physically carry out fornication, adultery, pedophilia, incest and the like goes against the will of God and is deserving of damnation as one corrupts themselves. But those who diligently look to Christ, who richly provides all for our enjoyment, will be transformed in a way where pursuing conjugal relationships are consistent with Divine Law and it’s consummation acceptable to God and man. May this word serve both as encouragement and conviction to those who have pure desires but have stepped out of Divine will; who exchanged godly transformation for artificial substitutes and therefore fell short of reflecting God’s full glory.

7. Agape

It may be hard to imagine a love that is better than romantic and platonic love; tell certain people that sex is overrated and they might look at you funny. The pinnacle of all loves is the love God has for humanity and inversely the love man has for God. It’s this type of love that I desperately long for. The hope of restoration is found in this affection.

And if we’re honest enough to admit our judgements are NOT ALWAYS sound, we can begin to explore three hypothesis:
1. Someone is perfect
2. that someone is NOT you
3. that someone IS you

Go!

Who needs perfectionists in an age where Narcissism abounds? Can the world sustain more people with inflated egos? There needs to be a distinction between one who is arrogant and selfish, one who is self-confident and generous, and one who has God-esteem and is benevolent. While much has been written about the former and has caused much grief and problems in our world, there is much room for the latter to heal and restore the world around us. God-esteem by definition is ascribing God to be Immaculate and by union, a reflection of His perfection. And just like how Christ’s Incarnation was birthed to build a meaningful relationship with the world, Christians ought to strive to build a profound fellowship with each other.

God-esteem
noun

1. The practice of ascribing perfection to God and by extension yourself.

In conclusion, perfect love is immanent in all the other loves discussed. However, agape love is transcendent and is where a person may find the awe and sublime of God. So therefore, what is holding you back from becoming a true worshipper of Christ? Do you doubt that a full reward awaits you as you give Him your all? Are you still feeling like you can never be deeply loved? There are yet sublime experiences to be had in marriage. Your marriage does not need to burn out. There is a passion even the singles can feel alone. And it’s all found in Christ:

You didn’t get tired of me/
When I brought you hell/
Ice fell as an epagoge/
Rock bottom now I found a gem emoji/
Thank you LORD for loving me/
Even when I was unloveable/
You gave me faith & believed in me/
With a grace so incredible/
I laugh with joy unspeakable/
It preaches to the unreachable/
LORD cause me to not save face/
All day long may I give you praise/
