Nocturnal Prelude

You ever get to some event early and decide to take a short nap, only to wake up hours afterward and now you’re late? Just me? I be sooo heated – like burning up on the inside. Being late is another pet-peeve of mine. Now that our country is opening back up, more people are pregnant with ambitions, desires, ideas, and of course offspring. We’re seeing more business ideas come to the table, new ministries being launched, and new additions to families. Beautiful that this is happening in the midst of such volatile times. And if the Pandemic was a mere shadow of darker hours for the US, how excellent it is to remain optimistic through tribulations!

Four business ideas useful for the black community

  1. Security Firm – In the age where policing have left a bad taste in the mouths of Blacks, there is a demand for community policing to protect families.





  2. Staffing Agencies – Black businesses not only need customer but personnel to function and scale. If every Black person became an entrepreneur, we’ll have a community of single/sole-proprietors who will not cooperate with each other. Having temp firms can function as a facilitator to work, volunteer or partner to build wealth among ourselves.
  3. Logistics/Transportation: Whether it’s a taxi, courier service, or a full-blown trucking company, transportation and logistics are set to flourish in a well over 500 billion industry in the years ahead.


  4. Guess? Do you know what the fourth business idea is? *NOTE*: This is for my fellow JedEyes. For others looking for insight, I left context clues within this blog. Suspect Emergencies

I’m reminded more and more how important it is to observe to avoid mishaps in the future. Ain’t nothing like feeling like you’re going the right way only to end up in a ditch or a dead end. Thinking that you were on your way to be free, but in reality becoming a worse off slave and now you’re praying for a key. One thing I’ve learned and becoming more disciplined in; you can tell how self-aware and detail-oriented they are by how they drive.

TRUE STORY: There was a time I drove big rigs. I hated driving them in the city though because you have too many people who can’t drive. One day, I was driving up 95th street in Chicago to drop cargo. I usually take extra defensive measures as any truck driver should. I can foresee at some point some knucklehead will pull off some bizarre stunt
– and sure enough – one driver who was parked to the right of me decided to do a U-Turn in front of my truck near an intersection. Mind you I was still driving my truck…..PURE INSANITY. The kicker was, I actually KNEW who the driver was. I won’t reveal his name, but continue reading this blog and those in Chicago might know who this person was; HINT: he’s a musician.

No Pay Phones

Isn’t it weird that pay phones don’t exist anymore? I’ll admit that was kind of a freaky but necessary apparatus back in the day. Imagine if you were stuck in no man’s land and the only way you could get in touch with someone was through the payphone…and you had no money. Like I’m sorry but Superman can’t reach you at this time. Jesus however hears every call and summons us with good directions. Thank you LORD.

You know what I’d like to see disappear like pay phones? Education. The education system under capitalism is a component of modern day slavery. Many go into debt to compete for scarcity of jobs, and will work tirelessly to pay debt off. I’m not saying that education should be completely free in America… I’m not naive…but there is much hinderance to our evolution when information is withheld and misinformation abounds.

No Dear, the Buck Doesn’t Stop There

Boy is everyone a critic nowadays? Maybe it’s just me, or maybe it’s social media. Expressing ourselves for many often come with a condescending tone, and any take not consistent with the norm is met with shame. Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been privileged to watch a documentary by Tariq Nasheed, “Buck Breaking” that journeys through the sexual exploitation of Blacks in America and abroad; and the generational trauma it has left in the Black Community. Now before I get into my review, let me give praise to all those who were involved as I found this piece to be phenomenal work.

This wasn’t the first documentary I watched from Tariq. I remember vividly when I watched Hidden Colors after hearing about it from word of mouth. There was heightened spiritual activity at that time and for better or for worse, very little has changed today. I won’t make this blog long so I will make highlights on the things I appreciated the most about the film.

  1. In High Definition: The video did it’s best to bring the concept of buck-breaking to different spheres; sexual, political, physical, economical, etc. Bringing awareness to the totality of Buck Breaking can help tackle the social oppressions peculiar to the US and abroad.
  2. Historically Informative: As depressing and repulsive America’s past can be, there were some gems I found in this documentary that I didn’t know of myself. For the record, I won’t give any spoilers. You’d have to watch the film yourself.
  3. Call to restoring Black Dignity: To make a country that is a melting pot work, there needs to be common values and principles. What I began to see in this documentary was a brief overview of how to repair the damage done to the Black family. Of course there are many other issues and solutions that will need to be discussed but kudos to embedding ideas within the parameters of the film.
  4. Controlling the Narrative: There’s nothing like being told your History by those who look like you. Unfortunately, in this world, stories are slighted to favor the tribes who tell it. All to often, Blacks have been gaslighted as far as acknowledging the damage done to them an the need for justice and reparations in the community.
  5. Distinguishing the fight for civil rights: too often Black Rights are lumped together with other groups and is chastised when Blacks try to bring their issues to the spotlight. While I believe in making alliances and doing what is best for all, Blacks are not a monolith; special attention is needed to bring justice to the Black Community as their oppression is unique in America.

I bring these points together as I believe Black Liberation, LGBTQ and women’s rights, all have their place in the Gospel narrative; and for the work of reconciliation to thrive, every problem should be taken in consideration; a long and complex assignment for Christ’s servants. It remains to be seen where certain injustices actually originated from. I look forward as God’s will unfolds, to facilitate uncovering these narratives to the glory of Jesus; not in a mere general sense that looks only to the scriptures, but experiencing its supernatural power relevant today and for ages to come.

In closing my love, this movie is an important Blockbuster for the next phase in America’s History. Yes it is controversial, and it will take level-headedness to hear the matters and distinguish facts from biased opinion. Much healing is needed for those of us who speak out of deep hurt and brokenness. There will be plenty of people casting stones Bam Bam, so don’t let that cause you to lose your resolve. And don’t worry about me. Doesn’t matter how much I’m hemmed in, the LORD will see to the cleaning of the sewage. May God break the curses of dysfunction, poverty, and injustice in our world.

A simple word of instruction: If the shoe fits, wear it…

In our last blog dealing with the LGBTQ community, we confirmed philosophical ideas both redeeming and correcting the family – mostly through existentialism. We understood the importance of not conflating subjects and showed how social movements have influenced sexuality. Today we’ll deviate from the double “p” angles and begin to tap into the “f” channel; fashion.

Who Wore the Pants?

Don’t get too excited fascists! We’re not talking about pharmaceutical regulations. This is about clothes and how they have historically been correlated to gender identity. Surprisingly, the trend of what constituted dressing as a man or woman has evolved over time; with skirts being worn by men across the board since Ancient times and blouses being the common attire of nobles & peasants during America’s Colonial period.

30A man shall not take his father’s wife, nor discover his father’s skirt. Deut 22:30 KJV

It’s important to take note of these distinctions so that we escape the false dichotomy in the Scriptures before:

5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are an abomination unto the LORD thy God. Deut 22:5 KJV

Because believe it or not, this is how fascism works.

THE PROTOTYPE

To the French, the ‘end of century’ carried a theme that supported emotionalism, irrationalism, subjectivism and vitalism. Each of these intellectual paradigms had an essence that correlates closely to the negative aspects of the Charismatic movement; a revolution that emerged in the mid 20th century. When we emphasize spirituality over truth, we are more prone to ostracizing intellectualists — supposing that prophecy and preaching are the only forms of teaching; that God’s Word is NOT pervasive or immanent demonizing the required worship of God; with all our mind and voiding ‘all’ carnal insight from being genuine gifts of wisdom and knowledge. If the Church is not careful, it will continue its Pharisaical crucifixion of its wise men; apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelists, and pastors whose words carry great dunamis to partner with God’s plan to destroy save, redeem and restore the world. O how the times have put them in hiding, but no more!

Why the Long Hair?

Additionally speaking, long hair in certain cultures also have arbitrary gender identity attached to it. Although the Nazarites often grew long hair, we see in the New Testament a rhetorical question about honor being associated with hair length. (1 Cor 11:11-15)

In Eastern cultures like Japan and China, long hair symbolized youthfulness for men and women and were generally encouraged to do so. Furthermore in Africa, long-hair was common among gender.

SIDEBAR: Do you know how good you look when you’re wearing those pants girl? You ought here putting surges in the air like you a circuit board. Did I say you’re electrifying? Nah that would be too lame. I’m telling you I didn’t have any dairy today, but you out here looking yogurt fire!

Native Americans also took pride in long hair among men and women. As you can see, cultures around the world celebrated gender neutral fashions for centuries. What’s the point though? What does this have to do with the LGBTQ community?

  • Clothes effect mental well-being. LGBTQ may have inner desires confirmed through what they where wear. Because of the spirit behind how culture has changed through fashion, this may have also affect the psychology of a person growing up. This can be reasonably deduced by the fact that researchers have confirmed what they call ‘enclothed cognition.’ It is a well-known fact that clothing gives off a first impression – and – may boost self-confidence. If this is true, why wouldn’t this play an affect on gender identity? What a greater effect it would have if we clothe ourselves with Christ!
  • Neither conventional, orthodox, or universal standards in – and – of – themselves are the source of moral absolutes. Because standards change through the times and the Scriptures lack consistency by opposing each other, it is reasonable to assume that certain rules are qualified by its context. Nevertheless, Christ alone is the final arbiter of what is right and wrong and while we have the Holy Scriptures to guide us into godly living, we must remember that God is His own interpreter and will justify or condemn according to His will.

They Crossed The Lines

So whenever someone either critiques someone’s gender by what they wear or feel threatened by the ‘gaiety’ of one’s dress, take a step back and be more objective; the person may either not know the promises attached to seeking Christ or be ignorant of History. We should not conflate the clothing of dress with the clothing of one’s character.

If you go too fast, you’re in danger of going through the motions. Too slow and everything becomes stagnant. For most of us, we’re most vulnerable when we feel alone and exposed; our flaws are captured and observed with looks that make our skin squirm. How you fare when you feel threatened or tender depends on what you acknowledge about yourself and your surroundings. Take a deep breath…can you feel God? Can you feel me too? I know it’s hard to remember sometimes.

With an online world full of criticisms, people will put their best selves forward with the question remaining if they are being authentic. The weirdest phenomenon I’ve seen on social media is that people will look on a screen for people who are ‘real’ and ‘raw’ with them. Can you imagine how many trolls there would be if people could reach through their phone or tablet? Judging by the way the world looks now, it’s a good thing certain people don’t have super powers.

But there’s a hidden curse with those with common sense; as they say great minds think alike – and I would add – feel like too. (***Let me take a pause here***) Can you please get that booger out of your nose so I can breathe better? Thanks. I appreciate it.

Last week, some of our dear elders tackled philosophical ideas surrounding identity and the LGBTQ community. Interesting to say the least. I wish we had more people tackling subjects with impartiality, but that’s just what it is for now. I’m noticing more assumptions of certain Christian dogmas as correct (not referring to the elementary stuff here) and when we fail to critique our own stances, we may begin to present our opinions as inflexible truths rather than facts that are qualified by its context. Some things are true until it’s not and vice versa. Did you feel God? Can you feel me too? I know it’s hard to remember sometimes.

Philosophy can wear you out man. Especially when it comes to existentialism: whose premise in my humble opinion is scrabbled semantics in a misguided attempt to provide a system to be authentic. Not going to explain my thoughts on that matter for now because the primary focus is to give further arguments in redeeming and correcting the alphabet community. There are certainly bugs within the existentialist framework; whether we are pulling notes from Jean-Paul Sartre, Maurice Merleau-Ponty, or George Serban, it’s clear that we can’t conflate identity with authenticity, and that any attempt to do so will muddy the waters between hypocrisy and delusion. Hold your horses Lexi! Let me explain that here:

I know I’m not alone in such sentiments, as is the case for any person whose eccentric, radical or a maverick. Explaining is a premeasure to protect oneself in society and the weaponry to stand up for others. This is certainly the case with Ti-Grace Atkinson; a gay woman who contributed to the system of radical feminism. Quite frankly, there is much for me to learn about the different sub-sets about feminism, except this class is off-putting considering the animosity towards men – Black men – in particular. There should be no surprise that the recent gender wars are rising from repeated instances of dehumanizing the other.

The feminist dilemma is that it is as women — or “females” — that women are persecuted, just as it was as slaves — or “blacks” — that slaves were persecuted in America: in order to improve their condition, those individuals who are today defined as women must eradicate their own definition. Women must, in a sense, commit suicide, and the journey from womanhood to a society of individuals is hazardous.

Butter UP the Quilt

As humans, the more proud we are, the more we are willing to expose our rawness. When shame, threats, or courtesy arises, we look for places to hide. Society oppresses our ‘freedoms’ with consequences should we act in a way contrary with its laws. Such oppressions aren’t bad when the law is just, but let it be misguided or sinister then man!!! It’s horrible how difficult it is for women to get appropriate health care; to get maternity leave without worrying if their livelihood will be lost, striving for equality with men when now they have another existential threat; the transgender woman.

A man who has sadistic thoughts maybe considered unclean or a murderer at worst within a Christian context, but if he genuinely refrains from carrying out his imagination due to repentance, would we still classify him a sadist? If a person identifies themselves as a cat and spends most of their days acting like a cat, we can say they are being their authentic selves, but their body betrays their fancies. How would we identify such a person? A four foot six boy can walk around thinking they are a titan — crushing nations underneath his feet — only to be pulverized by a towering bully at school. Who is the boy ‘really’? What’s the point here?

Off in the Town

If we can see how acting upon every impulse may not be good, we can indulge in the more introspective, innate part of us. At what point should we suppress our desires? When should we let ourselves go and be “free”? As long as we can recognize that our identity is in some respects shared, we can build genuine relationships. Again, I know what it feels like to be trapped in a fragile body. I’m sure many people do. To do what I think is best for myself, I must adhere to a code; an ethics I develop personally but is also consistent with logic, nature, and the society I live in. In my personal opinion, making such decisions help me to move in a way most harmonious with the world, although I don’t need to agree with everything the world says. Some discord is good. Just ask Bartok.

I’ll come at this topic from one last angle and then we’ll move on. To all those within the LGBTQ community, you are loved. If you believe in God, try to discern how God wants you to follow Him/Her.

Questions to Consider

Does identity equate to authenticity? When do you KNOW you’re being authentic? Is being your true-self consistent with your identity?

How can we better relate to the LGBTQ community?

In what ways can we tackle to issues of racism, sexism, and other schisms in our community holistically?

Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.

My dear,

It should go without question the true intent of this letter – unless – somehow we lost our connection along the way. Never once did I imagine a smooth ride in this crisis, and my wish is that you’ll stick around despite the delay. I know the turbulence is frightening; shots firing at every direction – it seems nothing is going right. They’re passing the needle around like it’s a miracle but there’s breakthrough cases. I know surprising right? And now they’re trying to suppress voter’s rights while killing the Black Man. Some Trinitarian strategy I’m sure of. I’m writing this letter to remind you of your options. No matter how many avenues seem to be blocked off, there’s another way. You know the old cliche. Remember what I taught you about false dichotomies. We have the power to shape our future.


15 So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter.

If you talked to me in my earlier years, you would’ve found me aloof to political matters. I never looked at government then as an answer to our struggles and in a way I still see clamoring for political power as futile, except now I see how God intends to bring His kingdom on earth. In the midst of the nations, God will draw people’s hearts to Him whether in reverence or in terror. Through the small acts in participating in our election process, we either speed or slow down Jesus’ eminent return.

This post is not intended as an attack on either party, but to show the validity of mail and absentee ballots, and the need for upgraded voter systems that are secure. In the last couple of election cycles, I had the privilege of doing mail-in ballots due to the pandemic in which I prefer over voting at the booth. Reason being is that I can’t keep track of who’s running for office throughout the year (it’s not like politicians come knocking at my door) and it gives me time to do research on the person to see what their stances are on certain issues. Seeing whose running ahead of time helps me avoid being influenced by propaganda. So we know how problematic it becomes when we either want to ban mail or absentee ballots or require that people have a voter’s ID. While it may look like it’s merely trying to keep legitimate votes on the surface, there is reasonable concern that these additional measures are attempts to discriminate against certain voters.

If it feels like I’m aloof over the internet, I’m really not. However I am reserved and will open up to people I feel at home with. Except let me tell you sumthn, America’s breath STANK! No really! Like the US has THEE DRAGON BREATH; funky and hot like it burns in Hell ten times over; trying to make friends but nobody wants to get close because of fear of death. The US wanna tell you they about justice and equity BUT YOU KEEP KILLING OUR BLACK MEN AND WOMEN!!!

Listen US, I don’t know about you sometimes. Here godly men are trying to usher in the kingdom of Heaven and another Black Man is killed. God’s kingdom can arrive any moment now and “poof”, another one of my brothers are gone? NOW WAIT A DAG GUM MINUTE WRIGLEY!!! Somebody fetch me some Orange Crush Soda Pop because I don’t know what type of sorceries ya’ll on… it’s certainly inflammatory. Ya’ll better get yourselves together here; like advocate for community policing, or get rid of the academy that protects bad cops, because injustice can only go unpunished for so long. Deceive yourselves if you wonna.

Lord I pray that you will bring more people in the truth with faithfulness. May they not be distracted or turned aside by delusion. – Amen

I want all of those who believe in the Messiah and Divine Love to stretch their faith to be conduits of Resurrection power; whether you are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Zoroastrian, etc. We are living in Dark times – Death, but on the other side there is newness of Life.

Question mark: How clean are you? Do you think that will play a part in how others think about ya? Are you quick to start arguments? Ready to throw some hands? How do you wind down after a long day? Don’t worry, this isn’t another 21 questions.

It was half-past four when I felt queasiness in my stomach. This is one of those feelings I wish I didn’t have as much. I performed my usual remedies; including resting and being grateful through the pain. When you’ve been on the edge, every little blessing counts, and I was determined to see through another setback – although ultimately – the cause of the pain was from another form of sickness. I wonder if a sharpshooter ever wished they missed? Let the gun violence and all wars be put to rest, and let godly peace sawm the land with justice. Amen.

Heard from the Red Vines

When I was a shorty shorty looking like a little cupcake with shortening, I was given an allowance to go to the candy store. I would have my one dollar and would pick up whatever snacks I felt like having at the moment. I know…simpler times. Who would you think would win in a verzuz battle; Twizzlers or Red Vines? Perhaps that wasn’t a relevant question since today people are fleeing such run-of-the-mill jobs for a fulfilling career.

Back in 93′ there was a huge discovery that could change the way people looked at Queers. A group of scientists discovered what they would call the ‘gay gene’ giving scientific evidence that homosexuals cannot choose their sexual orientation and can only love the way they were born to love. The findings of the research evolved over time; from saying there is no gay gene, to saying there are many genes that influence same sex behavior. Much caution is felt by the LGBTQ community in publishing their findings as they are regularly discriminated against in finding employment, government assistance, and receiving health care – the latter very likely playing a factor in the increasing rates of HIV cases in the community. Nobody should be denied grace no matter what type of person they are.

Is It Because The Body Lies?

No matter how you want to look at it, casual sex can do much harm as it debases a human. Research giving empirical evidence gives a mixed bag as it looks at a narrow set of variables. For instance, a study published in the Journal of Sex Research looked at heterosexual college students between 18-25. A greater percentage of men engaged in casual sex that was negatively associated with psychological well-being. What is missing from the study is whether or not these participants came from a private religious college, whether there were strings attached to the sex encounters, or if there were other outside influences (substance abuse, trauma etc.) affecting their mental state.

Additional research is needed when it comes to gender identity. For many people, they agree with the sex assigned to them at birth according to their genitalia. However for various reasons, there are others who cannot relate to their sex shown through their genitals. Whether these reasons are hormonal, (studies have shown that prenatal steroids combined with atypical endocrine secretions affect sexual orientation) physiological (e.g. hermaphrodites), or psychological due to abuse at an early age, many people’s identity don’t correspond to their physical bodies.

Or Because Of Body Shaming?

It goes without questions that social restraints and abuses have caused the LGBTQ community to feel isolated. When arbitrary standards of masculinity and femininity are upheld, people who may not fit the mold will be subject to ridicule. For many, masculinity is associated to strong and domineering while femininity is weak and servile. While there may be cases the affirms this positively, if classifications are left to absolutes, there will be toxic relationships between genders. Patriarchy is not inherently evil, but is has historically brought out cases of abuse, shame, and oppression.

Can you imagine what inner turmoil our fellow friends in the Alphabet community may have? I can empathize with them. All I ever wanted to do is dunk on somebody but I’m too short; I need a trampoline to increase my vertical and them I’m endanger myself jumping too high or hitting my head on the rim. Do you know the struggle of what it’s like to have to hold your head down around crowds? Because if gals are in the vicinity, guess what ya seeing? Huh?! What!? Do you know what it’s like to have to stand on your tippy toes at the airport so that the lady at the register can see you? Nah!? Naw!? Or stopping at a truck stop to use the restroom with several other tall & stocky guys waiting around the stall. Nope!?

Nobody should be denied grace no matter what type of person they are.

The Prototype

I wanted to bring lightheartedness to an otherwise serious subject. Persecution leads to trauma and we must be careful to convict with righteous judgments and with grace. Because if there’s one thing we can gather from this blog, it’s that the LGBTQ community lacks conformity to nature due to not being able to reproduce without artificial methods.

Not being able to reproduce without using artificial methods could be seen as correction from the Divine. This is not to sow seeds of condemnation, but to show where we often neglect God’s promises and take matters into our own hands. A promise of transformation awaits every believer who doesn’t want to merely fit in the culture. The reward of transcendence awaits every believer who delights in the Almighty while receiving His lovingkindness.

The Cure – Nas




Many aeons ago, there was a group of teachers that imparted esoteric knowledge. Because of their secretive and often Xtra-Biblical nature, they were shunned by the Church. They’re known as the Gnostics; name coming from the Greek word Gnosis meaning having knowledge. The Gnostics took learning very personal and allegedly were critical thinkers often challenging the Orthodoxy of the Day. For any outsider, they would agree that Gnostics were merely rebels and false teachers unless:

  • They understood the promise given to the church of Pergamum.

Now as ambassadors of Christ, let’s redeem some aspects of their teachings and throw away the others. For it will be useful in the future. Gnostics believed that the material world is inherently evil due to its flawed nature. (An objective truth if you do not subscribe to the Monist philosophy). Where it gets fuzzy is that they believed the material world is unredeemable and NOT created by the true God. It came from a lesser deity called the demiurge. The problem of this teaching is that it allows for complete denial of Jesus Christ. It is one thing to deny Jesus by name, it is more dangerous to deny him in essence.

Now we have been able to redeem LBGT & Gnosticism. For what purpose though?

  1. It gives stronger premises to redeem the New Age Movement.
  2. It provides systems of knowledge to recover lost narratives.

My hope after we deal with the LGBT community is further talk about what true perfection looks like in Christ, and uncover mysterious teachings in love. I am eager to do the latter in the context of music as I want to share all the things I learned from my mentors when I left music behind. When I get to my safe place, I’ll really start recording music again. I’m so excited! Lord please keep me alive until my work is done! Let my life be an inspiration to many to be their true selves in Christ. Let me free recording artists to not worry about having fans or making hits unless it is about tearing down the Kingdom of Evil. In your matchless name, Amen.

For many of us, many new windows of opportunities have opened up. At last, we can say life is sweet with a lil’ chip on your shoulder. This is just a humble brag. You’re feeling more inspired like a bed covered with silky indigo sheets basking in every moment as you look at the horizons. If you’re like me, you’re becoming more of a person who lives with no regrets; the past becomes a ring of fingered melodies and the fleeting intel you need should you wish to travel back in time. And as the day progresses and you become more feeble through life’s adversities, there comes an inner defense; a potent force that meets backwardness with a smiling face. Not sure if it’s through fried nerves or achieving Nirvana, but I do know the collective spirit at work. It’s the same Spirit that leads me to today’s Gospel reading:

2 Bear one another’s burdens, and fulfill the law of Christ. 3 For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. 5 For each will have to bear his own load. The Prison of Biblical Accountability

Obligations are shunned because they go counter to what we call freedom. There’s a demand for records (SIDEBAR: I can’t wait til’ I’m able to physically produce my music. Lord willing it will be some of my greatest work revealing the things I’ve done in secret!) that may expose your weaknesses and detract from your image. Such is true so long as we overindulge our ego and not look to Christ and others as pieces of ourselves. When we look at the world as an extension and not an opponent or autonomous entity, we will love and support each other more.

The following is an exercise in interpretation using juxtaposition. Look at today’s Gospel reading and thread it with Galatians 5:14. *IT COULD* read something like this:

  • Consider the two verses: 2 Bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ. 5 For each will have to bear his own load.
    How do you reconcile these passages that apparently contradict each other?
  • Read Gal 2:20. Are you the summation of all things? If so, how should you regard other people?
  • How do you hold yourself accountable? Do you find it worthwhile to submit to another for assessment? In what ways partnerships can be mutually edifying?
  • Given your current resources, how can you help others?

Protests Against Inflation

When support breaks down it usually comes from two causes:

  1. Arrogance
  2. Exhaustion

Historically speaking, there has been little spaces to healthy growth. Cultivation amongst organizations are often hindered due to short sessions of nurturing. And because our current world esteems money and assets as the primary means to survival, those who do not directly affect the bottom line are overlooked. More honor is needed to those who provide sweat equity whether through their hands, lips, or heart. For when we ensure the least among us wins, everybody goes to the next level.

But what happens if we treat others as if they’re worthless? Well Biblically speaking, there are three ways to consider worthlessness.

  1. The person who regularly engages in ungodly or sanctimonious behavior.
  2. A person who does good but is often overlooked.
  3. All people in relation to the headship of the Almighty.

This question is speaking to the second viewpoint in robbing people of their God-given dignity. Assuming the following premise is true, you can draw the following conclusion.

There is ONE body of Christ and each man members of each other.
Therefore to despise or dishonor one, you have debased yourself.

And we can expect God using the world to antagonize you until you see each men made in the image of Christ.

Show The Work

In High School, as much as I loved Mathematics, I would sometimes be subpar or fail tests throughout the year. Just about every time my grades were less than I expected, it was due to silly mistakes; either I was rushing and overlooking details or I was too self-confident and figured I can skip steps and still get them correct. I was the type that tried to excel in mental math. Can you do calculations in your head?

Our work is a reflection of our thoughts and habits. If you are not happy with where you are in life, consider the work you’ve been putting out. Whether that is external work or internal work, you should find pleasure and contentment in whatever you do.

The final point would lose its effectiveness if it isn’t based on Christ. For while these words convey broad ideas, Christ is fundamentally the essence of it all. And the more you see Christ as the most objective truth, the more the allure of this world becomes less. Speaking this truth is what will eventually make you a bonded servant. But what a free servant you become! I’ll close this blog out with a response to a man I hold dear and respect.

Interpretation matters. If the universe has no center, how is there life on earth? Why are there cities bustling with life? We have government, celebrities, sports, and schools. And it’s all being animated by what source? Randomness? I’d like to think reason has a more higher vibration, don’t you? And as I look into the skies, I cannot help but feel that someone is peering into the depths of my soul; piercing beyond my fragile frame revealing both the light and darkness within Me. When I close my eyes, I can sense it. The auras of space spark behind my eyelids like an Eternal Twilight. These words come from a man who strives to think with integrity; who prefers a belief system that’s more inclusive with facts rather than exclusive. I find the former having the capacity to be more fair with assessments than the latter. Society has done much harm discriminating and compartmentalizing things. So in my humble opinion, with deference to Divine Knowledge, I assert that:

Sense the Universe has *KNOW* center, you *CAN* be it through Christ.

A New Deck of Cards

The lyrics above I wrote for my wife and sang them to her on the day of our wedding. Today would mark 10 years of us being married and boy has it been a journey. The day we got married felt so surreal; committing to the ONE I love and looking back wondering if you’ll ever have those moments again.
