Dang! Who Lost the Mail Leaders?

Mail Leaders

FROM: ME

TO: YOU KNOW WHO

My dear,

It should go without question the true intent of this letter – unless – somehow we lost our connection along the way. Never once did I imagine a smooth ride in this crisis, and my wish is that you’ll stick around despite the delay. I know the turbulence is frightening; shots firing at every direction – it seems nothing is going right. They’re passing the needle around like it’s a miracle but there’s breakthrough cases. I know surprising right? And now they’re trying to suppress voter’s rights while killing the Black Man. Some Trinitarian strategy I’m sure of. I’m writing this letter to remind you of your options. No matter how many avenues seem to be blocked off, there’s another way. You know the old cliche. Remember what I taught you about false dichotomies. We have the power to shape our future.

15 So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter.

2 Thess 2:15 ESV

If you talked to me in my earlier years, you would’ve found me aloof to political matters. I never looked at government then as an answer to our struggles and in a way I still see clamoring for political power as futile, except now I see how God intends to bring His kingdom on earth. In the midst of the nations, God will draw people’s hearts to Him whether in reverence or in terror. Through the small acts in participating in our election process, we either speed or slow down Jesus’ eminent return.

This post is not intended as an attack on either party, but to show the validity of mail and absentee ballots, and the need for upgraded voter systems that are secure. In the last couple of election cycles, I had the privilege of doing mail-in ballots due to the pandemic in which I prefer over voting at the booth. Reason being is that I can’t keep track of who’s running for office throughout the year (it’s not like politicians come knocking at my door) and it gives me time to do research on the person to see what their stances are on certain issues. Seeing whose running ahead of time helps me avoid being influenced by propaganda. So we know how problematic it becomes when we either want to ban mail or absentee ballots or require that people have a voter’s ID. While it may look like it’s merely trying to keep legitimate votes on the surface, there is reasonable concern that these additional measures are attempts to discriminate against certain voters.

If it feels like I’m aloof over the internet, I’m really not. However I am reserved and will open up to people I feel at home with. Except let me tell you sumthn, America’s breath STANK! No really! Like the US has THEE DRAGON BREATH; funky and hot like it burns in Hell ten times over; trying to make friends but nobody wants to get close because of fear of death. The US wanna tell you they about justice and equity BUT YOU KEEP KILLING OUR BLACK MEN AND WOMEN!!!

Listen US, I don’t know about you sometimes. Here godly men are trying to usher in the kingdom of Heaven and another Black Man is killed. God’s kingdom can arrive any moment now and “poof”, another one of my brothers are gone? NOW WAIT A DAG GUM MINUTE WRIGLEY!!! Somebody fetch me some Orange Crush Soda Pop because I don’t know what type of sorceries ya’ll on… it’s certainly inflammatory. Ya’ll better get yourselves together here; like advocate for community policing, or get rid of the academy that protects bad cops, because injustice can only go unpunished for so long. Deceive yourselves if you wonna.

Lord I pray that you will bring more people in the truth with faithfulness. May they not be distracted or turned aside by delusion. – Amen

I want all of those who believe in the Messiah and Divine Love to stretch their faith to be conduits of Resurrection power; whether you are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Zoroastrian, etc. We are living in Dark times – Death, but on the other side there is newness of Life.

Again love,

I know I’ve been late on arrival and we’ve yet to break bread together. Please regard such postponements as not my true intentions. If there was no fear, hate, or injustice in this realm, things would be smooth sailing – but alas! – here we are. You know my heart and how I wish to quicken the Day so we can finally be one. I say this before God, I do not lie. What a miracle it must be to experience the Divine in all its glory! Surely it won’t be long. It can’t be long. The earth groans with the rest of creation. Doesn’t your stomach churn too? I’d talk to you more, but I have some more preliminary work to do. You know I will love you always.

Until next time,

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.

— 2 Thess 2:16-17 ESV

Learning to Love Backwards

Backwards Arrows

When you are vulnerable and helpless, that’s when it becomes crucial who comes into your life. Once you’re under someone else’s care, the reality that life and death is ultimately not under your control comes to the surface. It’s good to have that light bulb switched on so that you have enough courage to face death. That way, when pain arrives and it’s sorrows spring out like rivers, you will not be given over to complete waywardness, but resolve in the holiness of Christ.

This Devotional is more of a supplement to my previous blog: Cell With an X. We’re going to check out two passages of scriptures for the sake of study. The interesting thing about this is that we will be doing this backwards. You’ll understand why shortly.

16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as he is, so are we in the world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. 1 Jo 4:16-18 ESV

Now I’m going to need or you to get your penny loafers and white socks ready because we’re walking backwards here.

15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world – the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life – is not from the Father but is from the world. 17 And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. 1 Jo 2:15-17 ESV

One, two, twist, kick, turn! Spin around! Glide! That’s it! Now let’s go ahead and start thinking about the passages.

Points to Consider

  • How perfect is YOUR love? Have you felt God’s Supreme Love towards you?
  • What type of fear is appropriate with love? What needs to be put away?
  • If perfection is complete, how should one love the world and its components?
  • Is lust inherently evil? How would you define godly lust?
  • Note the phrase: but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
To what extent will the present world always remain? How does this inform the believer in engaging in ‘worldliness’?

Final Take

These points need to be addressed because there are quite a few brothers and sisters in Christ who take inferences from these passages for granted. In one corner, we have people who conflate practicing social justice as a gospel antagonistic to the mission of Christ. On another corner, there are Christians who view any type of worldliness against the mandate to holiness. And yet another corner presumes that there is no sin and that we can do whatever whenever we want. All of these takes are half-truths that have unfortunately been perpetuated in Christendom for centuries. And it won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. It is humbling to have to sit down with people and go WORD for WORD to show richness of meaning and reveal what the Scriptures are ACTUALLY saying as opposed to what people merely THINK it is saying. Context and nuance is KEY. And as we progress in learning more about the TRUTH of God’s Word and His will in our lives, we’ll be disciplined in a way that reflects Him according to His faithfulness. Remember no matter what good you do in this world, those who don’t understand or hate you will have something negative to say.

For many of us, many new windows of opportunities have opened up. At last, we can say life is sweet with a lil’ chip on your shoulder. This is just a humble brag. You’re feeling more inspired like a bed covered with silky indigo sheets basking in every moment as you look at the horizons. If you’re like me, you’re becoming more of a person who lives with no regrets; the past becomes a ring of fingered melodies and the fleeting intel you need should you wish to travel back in time. And as the day progresses and you become more feeble through life’s adversities, there comes an inner defense; a potent force that meets backwardness with a smiling face. Not sure if it’s through fried nerves or achieving Nirvana, but I do know the collective spirit at work. It’s the same Spirit that leads me to today’s Gospel reading:

2 Bear one another’s burdens, and fulfill the law of Christ. 3 For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. 5 For each will have to bear his own load. Gal 6:2-5 ESV

The Prison of Biblical Accountability

Obligations are shunned because they go counter to what we call freedom. There’s a demand for records (SIDEBAR: I can’t wait til’ I’m able to physically produce my music. Lord willing it will be some of my greatest work revealing the things I’ve done in secret!) that may expose your weaknesses and detract from your image. Such is true so long as we overindulge our ego and not look to Christ and others as pieces of ourselves. When we look at the world as an extension and not an opponent or autonomous entity, we will love and support each other more.

When we look at the world as an extension and not an opponent or autonomous entity, we will love and support each other more.

The Prototype

Thought Experiment

The following is an exercise in interpretation using juxtaposition. Look at today’s Gospel reading and thread it with Galatians 5:14. *IT COULD* read something like this:

14 For the whole law is fulfilled in ‘one’ word:
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
14 For the whole law is fulfilled in ‘one’ word:
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
3 For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
14 For the whole law is fulfilled in ‘one’ word:
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
4 But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor.
14 For the whole law is fulfilled in ‘one’ word:
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
5 For each will have to bear his own land.

2 Bear one another’s burdens, and fulfill the law of Christ.
3 For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in the neighbor. 5 For each will have to bear his own load.

14 For the whole law is fulfilled in ‘one’ word:
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Points in Consideration

  • Consider the two verses: 2 Bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ. 5 For each will have to bear his own load.
How do you reconcile these passages that apparently contradict each other?
  • Read Gal 2:20. Are you the summation of all things? If so, how should you regard other people?
  • How do you hold yourself accountable? Do you find it worthwhile to submit to another for assessment? In what ways partnerships can be mutually edifying?
  • Given your current resources, how can you help others?

Protests Against Inflation

When support breaks down it usually comes from two causes:

  1. Arrogance
  2. Exhaustion

Historically speaking, there has been little spaces to healthy growth. Cultivation amongst organizations are often hindered due to short sessions of nurturing. And because our current world esteems money and assets as the primary means to survival, those who do not directly affect the bottom line are overlooked. More honor is needed to those who provide sweat equity whether through their hands, lips, or heart. For when we ensure the least among us wins, everybody goes to the next level.

For when we ensure the least among us wins, everybody goes to the next level.

But what happens if we treat others as if they’re worthless? Well Biblically speaking, there are three ways to consider worthlessness.

  1. The person who regularly engages in ungodly or sanctimonious behavior.
  2. A person who does good but is often overlooked.
  3. All people in relation to the headship of the Almighty.

This question is speaking to the second viewpoint in robbing people of their God-given dignity. Assuming the following premise is true, you can draw the following conclusion.

There is ONE body of Christ and each man members of each other.
Therefore to despise or dishonor one, you have debased yourself.

And we can expect God using the world to antagonize you until you see each men made in the image of Christ.

Show The Work

In High School, as much as I loved Mathematics, I would sometimes be subpar or fail tests throughout the year. Just about every time my grades were less than I expected, it was due to silly mistakes; either I was rushing and overlooking details or I was too self-confident and figured I can skip steps and still get them correct. I was the type that tried to excel in mental math. Can you do calculations in your head?

Our work is a reflection of our thoughts and habits. If you are not happy with where you are in life, consider the work you’ve been putting out. Whether that is external work or internal work, you should find pleasure and contentment in whatever you do.

POP QUIZ

  • What Microsoft platform allows you to innovate with a vast array of solutions through the Cloud?
  • Finish the lyrics: When the light’s out, it’s less dangerous…
  • What is cognitive dissonance? How can one experience such phenomenoms without feeling anxiety?
  • Explain Aristotle’s summation theory. How does this relate to the study of the church; Ecclesiology?
  • In Economics, what is inflation? Deflation? How does these issues correlate to people?
  • Name two types of common photographic processing. How does this relate to one’s memory?

Iconix Ending

The final point would lose its effectiveness if it isn’t based on Christ. For while these words convey broad ideas, Christ is fundamentally the essence of it all. And the more you see Christ as the most objective truth, the more the allure of this world becomes less. Speaking this truth is what will eventually make you a bonded servant. But what a free servant you become! I’ll close this blog out with a response to a man I hold dear and respect.

Interpretation matters. If the universe has no center, how is there life on earth? Why are there cities bustling with life? We have government, celebrities, sports, and schools. And it’s all being animated by what source? Randomness? I’d like to think reason has a more higher vibration, don’t you? And as I look into the skies, I cannot help but feel that someone is peering into the depths of my soul; piercing beyond my fragile frame revealing both the light and darkness within Me. When I close my eyes, I can sense it. The auras of space spark behind my eyelids like an Eternal Twilight. These words come from a man who strives to think with integrity; who prefers a belief system that’s more inclusive with facts rather than exclusive. I find the former having the capacity to be more fair with assessments than the latter. Society has done much harm discriminating and compartmentalizing things. So in my humble opinion, with deference to Divine Knowledge, I assert that:

Sense the Universe has *KNOW* center, you *CAN* be it through Christ.

I wonder how this may change what goes down in people’s DMs? Any who, go be great and make others great through Christ. I James, along with many other saints, some you know and others you do not, write this blog to you. And as always, I love you. Until next time.

See with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand.
